EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques) Tapping.
What is it?
E.F.T. is one of a number of forms of "Energy Tapping" that is a true mind/body healing technique. It is sometimes referred to simply as "Tapping".
Whilst Western Medicine tends to focus on the chemical nature of the body, EFT makes use of the body's 14 major energy circuits (meridians) which have been at the heart of eastern medicine systems for more than 4000 years. With a focus on the emotional aspect and root cause of issues and symptoms, it has been described as a version of acupuncture without needles and is based on the understanding that the cause of all negative emotions is a disruption in the body's energy system.
This includes fears, phobias, grief, anger, anxiety, depression, traumatic memories, PSTD, worry, guilt - and any limiting emotions that effect performance in sport, business, or the performing arts. They all have a root cause. Even physical symptoms may often be relieved or reduced when underlying energetic or emotional issues are resolved. Gentle tapping on a number of major meridian end-points stimulates electro-magnetic activity, some of which send calming signals to the part of the brain that detects threats and is involved in all anxiety disorders. When we combine this effect with mental focus on any issue that causes us emotional (or even physical) pain or discomfort, profound changes can take place. After an EFT treatment we find that any high, negative emotional charge is dramatically reduced. Insights are often received that contribute to one's greater self awareness.
EFT has been developed primarily as a self-help tool and once you become proficient in the basic technique, your can use it to enhance every area of your life.
